Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones contentequity.iteurope.com uses, why we use them and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. It is written to meet the requirements of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow a site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time. Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage and pixels — perform comparable functions, and where we refer to “cookies” in this policy we mean all of them.
Cookies may be first-party (set by this website) or third-party (set by another domain). They may be session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period.
2. Our approach to consent
When you first arrive we set only strictly necessary cookies, which do not require consent under PECR regulation 6(4). Nothing else is set until you make a choice in the banner. Choosing “Essential only” means no analytics or preference cookies are placed at all. Your choice is recorded for twelve months, after which we ask you again. You can change it at any moment through the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
3. Cookies used on this website
3.1 Strictly necessary
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| consent preference | First party (local storage) | Stores the cookie choice you made so the banner is not shown on every page | 12 months |
| session | First party | Maintains the integrity of your browsing session and protects form submissions | Session |
| security token | First party | Protects the enquiry form against cross-site request forgery | Session |
3.2 Analytics — set only with your consent
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count unique users | 13 months |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Maintains session state for measurement | 13 months |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users over a 24-hour window | 24 hours |
Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand which pages are read and where visitors struggle. We enable IP anonymisation and we do not use analytics data to identify individuals or to build advertising audiences.
3.3 Preference cookies — set only with your consent
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ui preferences | First party (local storage) | Remembers interface choices such as a dismissed notice or a chosen view | 6 months |
3.4 Advertising cookies
We do not use advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies on this website, and we do not share visitor data with advertising networks.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
In addition to our banner, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site working correctly.

- Safari — Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data
- Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
- Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
You can also send a Global Privacy Control signal from a supporting browser; we treat it as a valid objection to non-essential cookies.
5. Changes to this policy
We audit the cookies on this site periodically and update the tables above whenever they change. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
